Screen time calculator

Enter roughly how many minutes a day you spend on apps you'd like to use less. The calculator turns that into weekly, monthly and yearly totals, and shows how much a reduction goal would change them. It all runs in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.

Where to find your real numbers

On iPhone, open Settings → Screen Time → See All App & Website Activity. Switch to Week for a better average than a single day.

Worked examples

The math is simple, so you can check it yourself:

  • 1 hour a day, 7 days a week: 7 hours a week, about 30 hours a month and 365 hours a year (15.2 days).
  • 2 hours 30 minutes a day: 17.5 hours a week and about 912 hours a year (38 days). A 25% reduction is 37.5 minutes a day, about 228 hours a year.
  • 45 minutes a day on weekdays only (5 days): 3.75 hours a week and about 196 hours a year.

How to read the result

These are scenarios based on what you enter, not measurements of your phone and not a promise of what any app will change. Time you take back from scrolling isn't automatically productive, and it doesn't need to be. Rest counts too.

Common questions

How is the yearly total calculated?

Minutes per day × days per week gives the weekly total. Yearly is the weekly total × 52.14 (365 ÷ 7), and monthly is the weekly total × 4.35 (365 ÷ 12 ÷ 7). Everything is shown in hours.

How much time do I spend scrolling in a year?

Multiply your daily minutes by 365 and divide by 60. For example, 2 hours 30 minutes a day is 150 × 365 = 54,750 minutes, or about 912 hours (38 full days) a year.

Is this a medical or psychological assessment?

No. It's arithmetic on the numbers you enter, to help you plan. It doesn't diagnose anything.

Is my data saved?

No. The calculator runs entirely in your browser and doesn't store or send anything.
